Bond Referendum

In August, 2012, the Rockford School District Board unanimously approved putting a referendum on the November 6, 2012 election ballot to issue $139 million in bonds to pay for improvements that will improve every RPS 205 school.

This is the language that will appear on your ballot if you live in the RPS 205 school district:

“Shall the Board of Education of Rockford School District 205, Winnebago and Boone Counties, Illinois, build and equip additions to and alter, repair and equip school buildings, acquire one or more sites, improve sites and issue bonds of said School District to the amount of $139,000,000 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?” Yes ___ No___

Making improvements to our school buildings supports the creation of 21st Century Learning environments, one of the District’s “Readiness Rocks” initiatives, five goals to move our district forward. Those goals include College for All, Career & College Readiness, 21st Century Learning, Seven Periods to Success and Preschool for All.
